Consultancy for Children's Services:
Freelance consultant for children's services development since April 2005. Over 30 years experience with Birmingham Local Authority including secondary headships, assistant director, senior officer and advisory roles. Acting as consultant to Birmingham Strategic Partnerships Team (April 2005-March 2006) scoped and recommended a strategy for local integrated working across the city.
Since April 2006 commissioned project management, facilitation and training within developing children's trust arrangements has involved working with front line staff, children, young people and family members.
Expertise and Experience:
- Knowledge and experience of developing integrated working within Extended School Clusters and Children's Centre reach areas.
- Coordinating the development of localised multi-agency working using the Common Assessment Framework processes.
- Extensive experience in a range of roles in Primary, Secondary and Special schools.
- Enabling participation and facilitating consultation activities with children, young people and parents to improve outcomes in a range of contexts.
- Facilitating team development and personal/professional effectiveness within the context of organisational change to increase impact.
- Identifying factors that contribute to positive outcomes for children, young people and their families.
Recent commissioned work:
- Facilitating the establishment of Multi-Agency Extended School Cluster Steering Groups and joined up multi-agency practice in six areas of the city (inner city and suburban localities)
- Project managing a multi - agency programme for young people at risk of permanent exclusion from school based within a collegiate of 10 secondary schools.
- 'hear by right' and Equalities Impact Assessment for the Looked After Children Education Service (LACES).
- Developing a local strategy for children, young people and parent consultation / engagement in a children's services cluster
- Coordinating Common Assessment Framework Processes across an inner city locality.
- Project managing pilot specialist integrated assessment processes within six settings.
- Personal/Professional effectiveness programme for future Headteachers and Leaders.
- Personal/Professional effectiveness programme for Administration Managers.
